Utah Valley Chamber to Tackle Housing, Traffic, Water and Energy Challenges at Growth & Prosperity Summit

Nov. 12 event will bring together business and community leaders to explore solutions to Utah County’s most pressing growth challenges

PROVO, Utah — Nov. 3, 2026 — Will traffic on I-15 ever improve? Will the next generation be able to afford homes in Utah Valley? Can the region’s water and energy infrastructure keep pace with continued growth?

These are among the questions the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce will address at its sixth annual Growth & Prosperity Summit on Thursday, Nov. 12, at Utah Valley University’s Sorensen Student Center in Orem.

As Utah County continues to experience significant population and economic growth, the summit will bring together business executives, policymakers, community leaders and residents to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the region’s future.

“Growth affects everyone in Utah Valley, from the businesses we run to the neighborhoods our families call home,” said Curtis Blair, president and CEO of the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce. “We need to manage growth before it manages us. This summit is about bringing people together to better understand the challenges ahead and explore how we can build a more prosperous future for our communities.”

Addressing the Issues That Matter Most to Utah Valley

The summit will focus on five pressing questions facing Utah County:

  1. Transportation: What will it take to improve traffic congestion and commute times along I-15 and other major transportation corridors?
  2. Housing affordability: Will future generations be able to afford homes in the communities where they grew up?
  3. Water conservation: How is Utah County preparing to meet future water demands and conserve resources during times of need?
  4. Energy infrastructure: Can the region’s power grid accommodate continued growth, including increasing demand from data centers and artificial intelligence?
  5. Workforce development: How can Utah Valley businesses attract, develop and retain the talent they need to remain competitive?

Attendees will hear from regional and national thought leaders, including Natalie Gochnour, director of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute at the University of Utah, and Charles Marohn, founder of Strong Towns, an organization focused on helping communities become financially resilient and sustainable.

The program will also feature remarks from former Utah Gov. Gary Herbert along with perspectives from leaders across the state.

In addition to keynote presentations, attendees will have opportunities to participate in breakout sessions focused on the issues most relevant to their businesses and communities. Breakfast and lunch are included with each registration.
